Not too long ago, Instructure released their new Canvas Community where users can come together to gather ideas, share tips, submit tickets and much more. Due to this new release, I want to share with you a few tips and things you can expect to see in the community.
The first thing you need to know is how to get there. community.canvaslms.com is home to the new community.
To fully take advantage of all that the community can offer, it is important that you register and create an account. I recommend that you first log in to your Canvas account (uvu.instructure.com) then open open up a new tab and go to the Canvas Community. Once there, log in. Because you had previously logged in to Canvas, you will be automatically logged in to the Canvas Community. The first time you log in, you will be asked to verify your user information.
The new Community allows users to find answers to all kind of Canvas questions, including Canvas Guides and upcoming Release Notes. Have an idea? The Community has a place for your ideas! Now you can share your ideas, if your idea is voted at least 30 times within 3 months, it move up. Great ideas could end up becoming part of future product releases. If you want to collaborate with others with similar interests as you, then Groups is where you want to head. Groups allow users with similar interest within the Canvas Community to share practices, network with peers and collaborate on projects related to Canvas.
To find out more and how to get involved, stop by our Lab and we can assist you. Also, here’s a webinar that cover all the features and function of the new Canvas Community.
